While traveling in Italy, we learned to value the beautiful Piazzas . These are the town squares where Italians of all type (young, old, rich, poor, workers, retirees, etc.) gather. All across history the town square is where people hear the news, buy their goods, share services, orate, and visit friends. In France the town square is called Place, pronounced “plus”.
The city of Caen has two major farmer’s markets every week. The smaller one Friday is located at Place Saint-Sauveur a beautiful 18th century setting. On Sundays, Caen hosts a gigantic market alongside the Marina (Bassin Saint-Pierre). Let’s go to the market together and see what we can purchase.
