Norwegian Cruise Balcony Cabins
If you cruise on the Norwegian Epic, would you choose a balcony cabin?

When booking a room on a cruise ship, there are many prices and many choices. Given that this was our first cruise, and a transatlantic of 16-days, we did not want to be relegated to an inside cabin. Our biggest fear was getting ill and being quarantined to our cabin. Therefore, we chose the balcony cabin out of sheer gratitude for fresh air IF the boat had a Norovirus outbreak (which it did not).
Let’s walk you through our balcony cabin on the Norwegian Epic Cruise Ship.

Cabin #12096 was in the middle of the ship where there is less rocking. Upon meeting our cabin steward, we requested a coffee maker and a mattress pillow topper. Our steward was not able to acquire the mattress topper for the first night, but he came through on the second night. Wow, what a difference it made. Cruise ships are designed with two twin mattresses and the pillow topper bridged the gap for snuggling couples.
If we take another cruise, we will definitely consider the balcony cabin again. Anything more than about 4 days would probably require our personal freedom of air without the other 4,000 or so guests around us. If we take another trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific cruise, we most certainly will choose the balcony cabin. What would you do?
