We knew that traveling for a year in retirement would change us. It would leave its mark on us both as individuals and in our newer relationship as a couple. The food, language, and cultural expectations were all gobbled up by us this year. The old stones, the history lessons, and the resiliency of people were absorbed into our lives and will resonate forever.
